When America first connected with the Nebraska Employment First team, she was eager to work but unsure how to take the next step. Through the Work Experience/On‑the‑Job Training program, our team partnered her with Grand Island Mission Avenue Thrift, giving her the opportunity to build skills, gain real‑world experience, and rebuild a consistent work history.

With steady guidance from her supervisor and ongoing encouragement from the Employment First team, America quickly grew into a reliable and confident contributor. By the end of her training period, she had clearly demonstrated her value and was offered permanent employment!

America continues to thrive in her role, and her success highlights the power of strong partnerships with local businesses to create meaningful opportunities for job seekers and employers alike.
