Changing Lives: Aliyah’s Story

Aliyah arrived to the PA CareerLink® Lackawanna County Young Adult program with a positive attitude and a clear vision—transition from customer service jobs to a professional healthcare career.

A young parent with little income, she enrolled in training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to gain the skills necessary to obtain a career that could support her and her family. The program supported her throughout the process, also providing mentoring, transportation assistance, and information on the labor market while improving her resume and interview skills.

Aliyah has now completed training and secured a new opportunity as a CNA with a healthcare provider committed to supporting her as she ascends her own career ladder.
